Ready to Connect?
For me, “returning home” is about finding a path back to ourselves — to a more authentic self that can sometimes become hidden beneath anxiety, depression, trauma, expectations, perfectionism, and the roles we learn to play in order to feel safe and accepted.
So many people experience a sense of being disconnected — from their bodies, their emotions, their needs, or from the world around them. Therapy can be a place to gently reconnect, listen inward, and discover what it means to feel at home in yourself.
This is especially true in my work with eating disorders and disordered eating. Food, body image, and control can become ways of coping, protecting ourselves, or trying to create safety in a world that feels overwhelming. Healing isn’t simply about changing behaviours — it’s about understanding what those behaviours have been doing for us, and finding new ways of meeting our needs.
Returning Home Therapy is about finding a path back to yourself — with a a sense of curiosity, self-compassion, and the belief that who you are underneath is worth knowing and embracing
